Pyrkon is still running and will continue to run for tomorrow but I decided to cut short and return home.
I had a list of things I wanted to do and I did most of them!
----
Gather as much plastic crack as possible! - Starting of with a ... Mixed success? I did not participate in any painting events, not enough time, and the line was too long (yay for the organizers!). I did however have a random encounter near the Mordheim table where one person was giving away some of their hand made and hand casted sculpts. Interesting thing! I took one and will probably paint him up at some point! I also one a mech! More on that later!
Get the Talisman promo cards. - check! Got the 4 cards, they will be a gift for my nephew as he and his dad like playing talisman!
Get the munchkin promo dice. - miss! I did not even see the black monk stand and the munchkin tourney. Ot is possible that there actually were none! Anyway, I did get the Pyrkon promo die! Sooo kind of a success?!
Participate in the "golden potato" painting contest - I did, and I won something! My dark Eldar raiding party for Epic Armageddon won me a prize, and part of that prize os a Battletech random salvage box. The box contains a single mech so I will probably be painting it up as soon as I get my hands on it! ( I had to leave early and a friend picked up my reward).

As for the non bucket list items:
I ran the Full Spectrum Dominance demo event. As usual it extended it's dedicated time slot for over 1,5h and it did bring a bunch of new people to the table. Less than last year but still a measurable success :)
From a more personal perspective I had the chance to play some StarCraft, the wargame kind!
I was hoping to play this game for some time now!
Models are quite nice, but the rules seem ... too complicated for my taste.
The list itself:
- Unit leapfrogging while moving.
- Units that can not move over enemy units unless they are charging and leapfrogging after the charge then they can.
- The armor and evade statistics which if I understand correctly are … Soo specific??? To much stats for the same thing?
- The surge, critical, precision and save mechanics reminded me a bit of legions Imperialis. Too much rules referring to the same thing, too many ways to modify the same thing in a slightly different way
- And the unit cards were... Unreadable in my opinion
- Different phases in which you can do different things but not that much different (you can move in 2 of the 3 phases)
- Disengaging close combat which works different depending on which of the movement phases you perform it...
It's not a bad game! I did enjoy the gameplay and was able to pull a nice 9-6 victory however it's not a game I want to try again. It's just not up my alley. Hope it catches on, more games is always a good thing!
