Wojna secesyjna obfitowała nie tylko w wielkie bitwy i niewielkie potyczki ale również cały szereg oblężeń i szturmów na forty. Często były to połączone operacje morsko – lądowe, albo rzeczno – lądowe. Nieodłącznym elementem oblężeń była ciężka artyleria. GM Boardgames postanowiło nadrobić braki w tej kwestii i wprowadzić modele ciężkiej artylerii do wojny secesyjnej.
Jest to związane z przygotowywanym przez nas dodatkiem do Bogowie wojny – Lee; Bogowie wojny – Grant. Grant wprowadzi do gry zasady oblężeń, dzięki czemu będzie można zdobyć Fort Donelson, Vicksburg, czy Fort Wagner.
Na zdjęciach prezentujemy 3 rodzaje armat oblężniczych. Są to:
13 calowy moździerz.
4.5 calowa armata oblężnicza.
100 funtowa armata oblężnicza Parrota.
Moździerz jest zupełną nowością w grze. Te typ moździerzy używano między innymi podczas oblężenia Yorktown, czy Petersburga. Dzięki parabolicznemu torowi lotu kuli, mogły one razić wnętrza umocnień przeciwnika. Najsłynniejrzym moździerzem tego typu był „Dyktator”, który umieszczono na platformie kolejowej. Ostrzeliwał on umocnienia Petersburga.
4.5 calowa armata oblężnicza była większym krewniakiem polowej armaty 3-calowej. Niezawodna, celna i dosyć mobilna, była nawet używana przez Armię Potomaku jako specjalna armata dalekiego dystansu, do eliminowania konfederackiej artylerii.
Wreszcie 100-funtowy Parrot to jedno z najcięższych dział, które używano w trakcie wojny secesyjnej. Jego pociski z łatwością niszczyły ceglane forty starego typu, czyniły też wielkie szkody w nowocześniejszych fortach. Teoretyczny zasięg tego monstrum wynosił prawie 7 kilometrów. Gdy Twój przeciwnik broni się w potężnych fortyfikacjach, ściągnięcie ciężkich Parrotów jest konieczne, aby zmiękczyć jego obronę.
Bardzo ważny jest też sposób produkcji naszych modeli armat oblężniczych. W przypadku Parrota i armaty 4.5 calowej chcieliśmy, aby miały one dwa typy lawet: forteczną, z obrotową szyną oraz ciężką, polową. Dzięki temu obie armaty będzie można umieścić albo w forcie, albo dołączyć do oblegającej armii. Lawety są tak skonstruowany aby pasowały do nich lufy jednej i drugiej armaty.
Mamy nadzieję, że nasze armaty oblężnicze pomogą Waszym armiom osiągnąć zwycięstwa na miarę Vicksburga!

Niedawno chwaliliśmy się rzeźbami brytyjskiej, kanadyjskiej i kolonialnej piechoty, dziś prezentujemy najlepsze działo w arsenale królowej Wiktorii z lat 60-tych XIX wieku. Ładowane odtylcowo, chociaż sprawiało pewne problemy, to dysponowało potężną siłą ognia, precyzją i zasięgiem. Armaty Armstronga używano w wielu wojnach połowy XIX wieku. Używali ich zarówno Brytyjczycy, jak i inne nacje, którym je sprzedano, np. Japończycy w trakcie wojny Boshin.
Armata Armstronga będzie podstawowym uzbrojeniem brytyjskiej artylerii w dodatku Rule Britannia. Mamy nadzieje, że zainteresuje również graczy zajmujących się innymi wojnami, w których była używana.

Here comes heavy artillery!
The Civil War was not only about great battles and small skirmishes but also a series of sieges and assaults on forts. Often these were combined sea-land or river-land operations. Heavy artillery was an inseparable element of sieges. GM Boardgames decided to catch up on this issue and introduce heavy artillery models into our 6 mm miniatures line.
This is related to the addition to the Gods of war - Lee; Gods of war - Grant. Grant will introduce siege rules into the game so you can conquer or defend Fort Donelson, Vicksburg or Fort Wagner.
In the pictures, we present three types of siege guns. These are:
13-inch seacoast mortar.
4.5-inch siege gun.
100-pounder Parrot's siege gun.
A mortar is a complete novelty in the game. These types of mortars were used, among others, during the siege of Yorktown or Petersburg. Thanks to the parabolic flight path of the ball, they could shot inside fortifications. The most famous mortar of this type was "Dictator", which was placed on the railway platform. He was firing at Petersburg's fortifications.
4.5-inch siege gun was a larger relative of the 3-inch field rifle. Reliable, accurate and quite mobile, it was even used by the Army of the Potomac as a special long distance gun, to eliminate Confederate artillery.
Finally, the 100-pounder Parrot is one of the heaviest guns that was used during the Civil War. His shells easily destroyed brick forts of the old type, they also did great damage to modern forts. The theoretical range of this monster was almost 7 thousand yards. When your opponent defends powerful fortifications, bringing heavy Parrots is necessary to soften his defenses.
Our method of producing siege guns models is also very important. In the case of Parrot and a 4.5-inch cannon, we wanted them to have two types of carriage: a fortress, with a rail (capable of rotating) and a heavy field one. Thanks to this, both cannons can be placed either in the fort or join the besieging army. The carriages are designed to match the barrels of one and the other cannon.

In addition, we would like to present the famous Armstrong Field Gun. Its introduction is related to the addition for Gods of war – Lee, called "Rule Britannia".. Recently, we showed sculptures of British, Canadian and colonial infantry, today we present the best cannon in the arsenal of Queen Victoria from the 1860s. Breech loading, although it caused some problems, it had a great firepower, precision and range. Armstrong's guns were used in many wars in the second half of 19th century. They were used by both the British and other nations that were sold to them, eg. the Japanese during the Boshin War.
Armstrong's gun will be the basic weaponry of the British artillery in addition to Rule Britannia. We hope that it will also useful for other players dealing with different wars in which it was used.
